About
I’m Mohammed, an IT systems administrator based in Aachen, Germany.
At Black Semiconductor, a fast-growing deeptech semiconductor startup, I look after identity, security and device management. Day to day that means Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and Jamf: single sign-on, privileged access, and hardening our Windows and Mac fleet against the CIS benchmarks.
I studied computer science at RWTH Aachen University, focusing on machine learning, process mining and software engineering. My bachelor thesis looked at automatically correcting medical reports with open-source language models. Alongside my studies I worked as a student IT administrator at the Chair of Computational Economics, running its Ubuntu research servers and websites, and as a working student developer at the Institute for Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling, building SQL databases and data-visualization tools for research data.
Outside work I run a homelab on Proxmox: Docker services, network-wide DNS with Pi-hole, WireGuard for remote access, Home Assistant, and local language models through Ollama.
I’m growing into cloud, infrastructure and DevOps engineering, and I’ll write about what I learn along the way on my blog.
I speak German, English and Arabic.
